So we’ve already tackled my favorite ties and t-shirts and you can bet your Japanese raw denim wearing ass that slacks, polo style shirts, dress shirts, shoes, socks, sweaters, sweatshirts, denim, sneakers, accessories, coats, cologne, grooming tools and pocket squares as well as many more men’s style posts are all on their way, in the meantime let’s take a look at my favorite jackets or sport coats. I’ve always been a bigger fan of matching sport coats with pants than traditional suits as I like the freedom of mixing and matching without wearing out a particular piece. Over the years I have amassed a large collection of luxury jackets that I have picked up either in stores specializing in vintage, barely worn luxury goods or at big sales. I am 100% admitting that I have not paid full price for even one piece in this post and I think that once you see my favorite jackets you’ll understand why. Even the cheapest out of the bunch would probably retail for over $3000 at best. I’m not going to make too many comments on the individual items, I’m just going to show you my five favorites and try to let the jackets speak for themselves. They’re all handmade in either Italy or England. Let’s count backwards this time.
Finally, these are my five favorites but I shit you not when I tell you that I have at least 20 jackets that I love. My fucking closet would make you sick. Not make you miss a day or two of work sick, needing a transplant, fucked up, thinking how you’ll spend your last 72 hours sick. Andiamo!
#5 Armani Collezioni Grey Tweed Jacket – Armani makes some of their clothing now in Asia, what a shame. I only fuck with their shit that’s made in Italy and you should do the same. Grey slacks, a pastel blue button down with a red polka dotted ascot…You do the math
#4 Burberry Houndstooth Hunting Jacket – Now all I need is a double barrel Beretta and a hunting dog named Winston, maybe a flask in the pocket with some XO, a gram of good blow in my outer poc…….Wait was I thinking or writing? Let’s carry on, yes yes?
# 3 Emporio Armani Brown Tweed Jacket - That’s right I have multiple Armani Tweed jackets, multiple meaning more than two and yes they’re all made in Italy. Depressed? Join the fucking club…..Prozac will not work.
#2 Ralph Lauren Purple Label Blue Chalk Stripe Blazer – Do you know how much a pair of Purple Label socks cost? You do? How much do you think a blazer handmade in England costs? Yeah, what the fuck? I have three Purple Label jackets and four polo shirts.
#1 Valentino Pitch Black Double Breasted One Button Windowpane Dinner Jacket – Yeah exactly. This jacket can be pulled of by the Swaggiest of Swagger with jeans and a heavily starched, white, spread color dress shirt, or at the fucking Oscars…….I guess I know how I’ll be wearing the fucking thing.
