So if you haven’t already figured it out I’m a sucker for new products, especially ones with interesting flavors. While I don’t love vodka I do love me some sweet tea so when I saw this on the shelf at Astor for a mere a $22 I figured it would be a sin if I didn’t at least try it. First off I have to say that it really does taste like sweet tea with a spicy little kick at the end. I tried it three different ways to try and get a good feel for the product.
Chilled Shot – It was pretty good this way. It tasted like a shot of sweet tea. The booze is only 70% so it’s not going to put you in the ER but it ain’t exactly a liqueur either. I think the ideal way to do shots of this would be to suck on a lemon wedge after downing the shot. I think that’s something that could really catch on.
The Sweet Tea Old Fashioned – This was pretty easy to make. I didn’t need a sweetener as the vodka is surely sweet enough on it;s own. So I simply added a few drops of Fee Brother’s Lemon Bitters (I wish I had The Bitter Truth’s Lemon Bitters for this) some big chunks of ice and a good sized lemon peel. It was very nice this way and felt like something I should be sipping on a porch watching fire flies or some shit.
The Alcholic Arnold Palmer or as I call it the Vijay Singh – This was the winner of the group. I made this drink with half sweet tea vodka and half fresh lemonade with a lemon wedge. It didn’t taste like an alcoholic beverage at all and after downing three of them I was a wee bit tipsy. If you wind up getting this product or another sweet tea vodka I recommend you drink them this way. It’s easily the best method.
Gulp It Or Throw It At Someone: Because it’s not very versatile I was going to initially say throw it at someone. And truth be told if you were a starting a bar this wouldn’t be in the top 5 flavored vodkas to have but as something special to take out on a summer evening while sitting outside I would say gulp it and then use it somewhat sparingly.
Next week….A rum review. I promise.

I totally agree with your review. I wasn’t sure about sweet tea flavor vodka at first, as I’m not a huge iced tea drinker, but mixed with lemonade and it’s a winner.
Everyone should try Jeremiah Weed! I have made all of my friends try and no one disliked it. I even converted a solid gin-n-tonic drinker to ordering Jeremiah Weed and lemonade.
You guys are right, this stuff is amazing! I did something like Katy, I brought a Liter of JWeed to a dinner party. All of my girlfriends were drinking wine (and typically do), i had them try the Peach Sweet Tea and Lemonade and it was a huge hit. The bottle was gone shortly after. .
No lemonade, thats ok! Sweet Tea with a fresh squeeze half a lemon is terrific and much fewer calories ladies!
Try it in an iced tea old fashioned. Rocks glass with a couple of dashes of lemon cocktail butters and a lemon twist and three or four large chunks of ice.
